It doesn't have any transmission issues, on low gears it tends to be a bit laggy but it's just something to anticipate. It's mostly when it's set on Eco mode. Normal and sports mode don't have that very slight lag that people are talking about. I recommend test driving one and experience for yourself.

Those trucks have Toyota tax. A Camry which was at one point America's Best selling sedan does not. There is way too many of them. Bought mine used near 80k, had it flushed and filled at 100k and it drives fine, no sounds or rough shifting.Camry is the way to go. The Camry Hybrid isn't a bad vehicle if you can justify the additional cost. A Mazda 3 Hatch would be a much better vehicle unless you just want the high mpg.

The main differences (depending on the trim) are obviously the infotainment system. I like both but the 2021 feels more "techy" to me so I actually prefer it.When Toyota gets heavy into EV's they will likely crush it.
